3 things you can do when you experience Failures in Life

Failures are part of life. In fact, it is a healthy indication that you are constantly growing and learning. You may not appreciate it at first because of the pain and frustrations that you feel, but just keep going even if your feelings force you to do the opposite thing. Your life will be better as days pass by as long as you abide in God’s holy instructions. Don’t allow your negative emotions to reign. Instead, humbly surrender them to God because He alone knows how to handle them. When you surrender, it means that you allow Him to take over, and you acknowledge His sovereignty despite the pain that you feel. Remember that He is your loving Father. He will help you along the process. And as you find the strength to start again, here are the things that you can do to victoriously overcome your failures in life:

1. Allow yourself to feel sad about what happened.

It’s okay to admit that you are not okay. Acknowledge the disappointment and frustrations that you feel inside. Your emotions are valid. Just because they are negative doesn’t mean you should neglect them as if they didn’t exist. You need to respect what you feel because your emotions serve as your alarm system. They give you signals about what’s going on inside. It warns and somehow protects you. If you will just properly handle and surrender them to God, then He will help you manage what you feel. Be patient with yourself when you can’t immediately get up from what happened. It means that you are just human, and you badly need God’s strength. Don’t pressure yourself. Healing takes a long process. Properly grieve first for the things that you lost because of your mistakes, and don’t take any shortcuts just to get away with the pain.

2. Forgive yourself.

Your regrets and condemnation will slowly kill your soul. That’s why you need to make an intentional choice to forgive yourself. Release the grace and mercy that God poured out into your life. Remember those moments when our Savior chose to die on the cross just to set you free from the mistakes and sins that you committed. Receive His love, and don’t act as if you are perfect because the truth is, you need the precious blood of Jesus to experience true forgiveness. His love alone will teach you how to accept yourself, including the parts that you badly wanted to disappear. Jesus will teach you how to manage your weaknesses, and you can’t do it if you will keep on condemning yourself. Let go and let God heal your heart. Forgiveness is only possible when you experience true love. And you can find it in the arms of God.

3. Turn your regrets into precious lessons.

Your mistakes are there to help you grow. So instead of focusing on what’s wrong, try to list down the things that you learned. Accept the mistakes and humbly ask God to help you apply the lessons you learned. But before you can apply them, you need to listen first to the Holy Spirit so that you will know what exact lessons He wanted you to learn. Sometimes, we focus on minor things and ignore the most important treasures behind our failures. Learn to seek guidance and open your heart so that you will hear His voice. Only then will you have an idea about the blessings behind what you’re going through.
