3 verses to Remember when you Feel Unappreciated
1. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24
Remember that you are doing your work for the glory of God and not just for others. Imagine that all your efforts are seen by God. And because of that, you will receive an inheritance from Him. You may not physically see God, but it’s Him you are serving. That means you are constantly offering Him all your sacrifices. So if the people around you failed to notice all the hard works that you did, then remember this verse.
God sees you. Continue to do your best. Strive for excellence and treat God as your manager. Let Him be the source of your standards and expectations. You may not instantly see the output of your efforts but know that God is preparing your rewards. He appreciates you. People may fail to thank you for what you did for them, but God knows what you are doing behind the scenes. So keep going, and don’t give up. One day, you will harvest the fruits of your labor in God’s perfect timing.
2. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
God values you. And it’s not because of the things that you did, but because of who you are in His eyes. He may rejoice with your right choices, but He takes more delight in your true identity. So when others tend to make you feel worthless, then always know that you are worth more than many sparrows. God already appreciates you even before you decide to do the right thing for His glory. He is already pleased with you just by the way you move and smile.
Your worth is not measured by the things that you do for God. But it’s all about what Jesus did for you on the cross. So do not focus on your own deeds. Instead, set your eyes on His great love, and you will realize that He appreciates you for countless reasons. If you just listen to His voice, then the negative deeds of others can no longer affect the way you see yourself.
3. “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve. Jeremiah17:10
God searches your heart and examines your mind. He sees the purpose behind the things that you do, and one day, He will reward you according to your deeds. So don’t worry if nobody sees you. God is there, and He knows what you truly need. He appreciates you and what matters most for Him is what’s inside your heart. Keep doing the right thing. And align your motives to God’s will. Soon, you will reap the fruits of the tiny seeds you planted for His kingdom.
