A Mature Person Will Accept The Truth Even If It Hurts Inside

Truth hurts. There are things in life that are out of our control, and the best that we can do is deal with it and do the right thing. We will encounter situations wherein our maturity and how we face the truth will be tested. Sometimes, we receive information that is very hard for us to accept, and we tend to follow our feelings than do the right thing. Maybe we feel scared or threatened. But mature people know how to separate their emotions from the right decisions. They also feel afraid on the inside, but they choose to do the right thing simply because they have a better perspective in life. Let’s pray that we will become one of those people who are responsible enough to handle our emotions.

People who learned to stand for the truth also experienced a lot of things in life. What they’ve been going through is not easy. They didn’t just do the right thing out of the blue. They also went through hardships in life, and the things that they experienced simply shaped their perspective and character. Some of them learned this important lesson in a hard way. This is the reason why we should not give up because we all have the chance to grow. You may fail to do the right thing before, but as long as you are breathing, that simply means God is giving you the chance to change the things that you can control, and that’s your mindset and the way you look at things.

Your feelings are part of your life, and you should accept it. But that doesn’t mean you will just allow your emotions to control your decisions. We tend to miss the important things the moment we focus on what we feel. Our selfish desires will prevail, and most of the time, our choices will lead us to destruction and pain. So think before you do something. Ask God for some help and He will be there to guide you.

Remember that the truth will set you free. It’s painful at first, and it’s hard to get over it, but it will give you enough courage to seek the things that are meant for you. If you learn to let go of the things that you can’t control, it means you simply give yourself the chance to grow. Do not be afraid to accept the truth because, after this season, you will experience breakthroughs, and God will provide you with the kind of life that you are meant to live.
