His Word

Acts 16: 29-30, NIV

The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

Acts 16: 29-30, NIV

The jailer was able to ask this very important question to Paul and Silas because He witnessed a miracle that pushed Him to believe. Paul and Silas were brought into prison because of sharing God’s word. While there were staying there, they chose to worship and glorify God’s name. And then, an earthquake happened and opened the doors of the prison cell. The jailer woke up, and when he saw what had happened, he drew a sword and tried to kill himself because he thought that the prisoners escaped. But then, Paul and Silas appeared and stopped him. Instead of killing himself, the jailer then asked the two disciples how he could be saved. What Paul and Silas did is a reminder for us to always do the right thing. They chose to stay even if it was already their chance to escape, and because of what they did, the situation pushed the jailer to get curious about their faith.

I pray that you will keep on doing the right thing in the eyes of God, just like what Paul and Silas did.
