Allow Jesus To Teach You How To Sleep In The Storm

Then He got into the boat, and His disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
Matthew 8:23-26, NIV

Are you going through a lot of struggles in your life? Do you feel like you are in the middle of the storm, and you just can’t find rest because of the negative things that you experienced? If you think that you can’t make it, then always remember what Jesus did when He and His disciples encountered a furious storm while they are traveling.  His disciples felt so afraid because they feel like they are drowning, but Jesus was sleeping. He chose to rest while the people around Him were screaming for help. It may be difficult for us to do it, but may we learn to do the same thing.

Let Jesus increase your faith. Put your trust in Him. Do not focus on your surroundings but set your eyes on God. Remind yourself of the great things that He can do in your life. The storm may appear so strong and scary. But choose to believe in God’s great power. You will never be shaken as long as you learn to depend on God. Never rely on the things that you can do. You need Him in your life, so choose to hide in His arms and let Him stop the storm for you.

Call upon the name of Jesus, and He will always be there to rescue you. He will rebuke the winds and waves in your life. He loves you so much, and He will never abandon you. Choose to rest in His presence. It may be hard for you to do it because you can’t take away the negative thoughts in your mind, but remember that you always have a choice. It may be difficult, but you can do it because He will give you enough grace so that you will have the courage to believe in Him even if you can’t see His hands moving. Jesus is the only one who can give you peace even in the midst of your problems. You just have to open your heart so that His love can come in and take away the doubts you feel inside. Nothing is impossible for Him.
