Choose to Love your Enemies

Yes, it’s not easy to do it. Especially when the wounds are still open and you can still feel the pain. But it’s a command that God wants us to do. We are called to love the people around us, including those who broke our hearts. It’s one of the things that set us apart from others. We choose to treat people with kindness not because we can do it by our own strength but simply because we trust that God will give us the courage to love them despite what they did. Be good to those people who fail to see your value. Be kind to those who mistreat you. Just do it for the glory of God, and you will experience His great miracles.

Choose to pray for them. Lift them up to God and surrender the pain that you feel. Do not seek revenge. It’s not your job to judge other people. So instead of trying to make things worse, let God take good care of the situation. Pray for a change of heart, that God will move in their lives and change them. Above all, pray for blessings, that God will pour out His grace, and may He continue to provide for what they truly need. That’s how we can show to them that we are indeed God’s children. We choose to pray for good things instead of hurting them back.

Let the love of God give you the strength you need. Just allow Him to embrace you. He will come in and change the way you see things. He will teach you how to forgive. Remember that you can’t do this on your own. But you can always ask for God’s help. Depend on His power and strength, and you will have the courage to do good things to your enemies. He will take away the bitterness that you feel, and He will replace them with compassion. One day, you will no longer remember the bad things. Instead, you will learn to treasure the wonderful miracles that God is doing.

Do not focus on the pain. Instead, choose to think about God’s goodness and grace. Remember what Jesus did on the cross and how He offered His life just for us to receive forgiveness. His sacrifices will make you realize that you also need His unfailing grace just like the people who caused you pain. When you humble yourself and receive His love, you will also learn to treat your enemies with kindness.
