His Word

Day 226 – Acts 7:59-60

While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”  Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Acts 7:59-60, NIV

Stephen is one of God’s faithful followers. People were stoning him because of his faith, but Stephen never holds some grudges to those who caused him pain. In fact, he asked God to forgive them. He died with the heart that’s willing to sacrifice His life and love sinners. Let’s pray that God will bless us with faith like Stephen. His heart is so devoted to God to the point that even at the last hour of his life, he still chose to honor and glorify God’s name. This is a great reminder for us to also love those people who caused us pain. It may be a very hard thing to do, but if Stephen was able to do it, then God will also give us enough strength to forgive others.

I pray that you will choose to glorify God in your life even if sometimes, it takes sacrifice.
