Day 289 – Ephesians 6:2-3
“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

Respect your parents and honor them. There is a reason why God chose them to become your parents. Yes, they are not perfect, but you are called to love them just like how God loves you. Be good to them while they are still with you. They sacrificed so many things just for you to live and enjoy this life. Maybe you think that your parents never love you, but know that you are deeply treasured and accepted. Be filled with the love of God so that you will learn to share it with your parents. This is the first command with a promise. If you honor your parents, then God will let you enjoy a long life here on earth.
I pray that you will honor and respect your parents.
