His Word

Day 382 – Luke 4:28-29

All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove Him [Jesus] out of the town, and took Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff.

Luke 4:28-29, NIV

Jesus was not a crowd pleaser. The people in Nazareth were furious because of the words that He released and He wasn’t troubled by the thought that they might feel disappointed by His teachings. He chose to do what’s right and He didn’t please the people around Him. That’s why, they drove Him out of the town and attempted to throw Him off the cliff. This is a great reminder for us to also honor God instead of pleasing other people. We must not allow the voices of the crowd to lead us. Instead, we need to fix our eyes on the truth that God wants us to follow just like what Jesus did.

I pray that you will choose to glorify the name of God and stop pleasing the people around you.
