Day 4 – 1 Peter 5:2
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.
1 Peter 5:2, NIV
You are also a shepherd. If God entrusted you to take good care of His people, then try your best to watch over them. Do it not for the purpose of fulfilling your responsibilities but simply because you are willing and eager to serve them. Purify your thoughts and let God give you the genuine heart to love them. Know that you are not alone. You may feel tired and burned out, but Jesus, the great Shepherd, will be there to equip and teach you what to do. Just be humble and acknowledge His will. Let Him mold your heart so that you will be able to serve His people well.
I pray that you will take good care of those people that God entrusted to you.
