Day 422 – Luke 8:13
Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.
Luke 8:13, NIV
Allow God to build your roots so that you will learn to properly steward His words. You need to strengthen yourself so that you won’t easily fall when temptations come. God is building your foundation. You just need to go through the process. Sometimes, you will experience pain, but take heart! God is giving you the chance to grow in His presence. You will find it hard to appreciate His words if you are not even rooted in His presence. You may receive it with gladness, but when trials come, you will easily feel disappointed. So ask God to build your roots, and only then will you learn to apply God’s words.
