His Word

Day 432 – Luke 9:48

Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”

Luke 9:48, NIV

The disciples were arguing about who was the greatest among them, and this is what Jesus said. The one who is least among them is the greatest. And He used the little child as a physical representation of greatness. The kids during their time were seen as not that important to society. But Jesus reminded them that whoever welcomes an innocent child also welcomes Him. The disciples need to learn how to be humble for them to welcome the little children. In the eyes of God, those who are great are not the ones who achieve many things but those who are humble enough to serve and accept others.

May you always remember what greatness means in the eyes of God.
