Day 458 – Luke 18: 22
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

A rich man asked Jesus about the things He needed to do so that He could inherit eternal life, then Jesus answered that He needed to follow the commandments. The man claimed that He had already followed them. And so, our loving Savior asked Him to sell everything and give it to the poor. But the rich man felt sad upon hearing His answer. You see, sometimes we find it hard to give up our earthly wealth because we treat them as our idols. Maybe Jesus asked him to do it because He knows what’s in his heart. How about you? What’s in your heart? What are the things that hinder you from following God?
I pray that you will learn to follow Jesus despite the difficult things that He asks you to do.
