Desire The Giver More Than The Blessing

We tend to forget the giver, especially when we are too caught up with the things that we receive in life. Sometimes, we focus on the blessings more than the love of God. Our prayer contents no longer speak about our desire for God, but it’s more about asking blessings from Him. Please remember that God is not a genie. Please don’t just believe in Him because of the things that He can do in your life, but more importantly, you desire for His love more than the blessings that you could ever receive here on earth. God deserves to be honored and loved. May you remember Him not just in moments when you need blessings but also in times when you feel happy and contented.

Put God at the center of your life. Try to ask yourself about the reason why you choose to believe in Him. Is it because of the things that He can do? Or purely because of His great love for you? Never make the good things in your life the basis for you to believe in God. It’s not about the blessings you receive, but He provides you with the things you need simply because He loves you so much. A wonderful relationship will never exist if it’s not founded on love. So walk in His love and never forget Him along the journey.

Pray for a heart that seeks His love. Ask God to change your perspective in life. Let Him teach you how to love Him even more. Choose to glorify His name and follow Him even if you feel like you didn’t receive any blessings. Because the truth is, God already provided the things that you need.  You just have to open your eyes and see things differently. Seek His kingdom first. Do the things that please His name and stop focusing on the rewards you will receive from Him. May the only reason you choose to have faith in God is because you experienced His love, and that alone will lead you to love Him back.

God is greater than the blessings that you receive. He is more than the good things that happened in your life. He is deeper than the pain you feel inside. Choose to desire for more of Him and not on the things that He can do in your life. Focus on your relationship with God and take delight in His presence. You will never feel lost and broken in His arms. In Him, you will always feel satisfied.
