Faith Is The Assurance That What God Said Will Come To Pass
When Stephen gave a speech to the Sanhedrin, he shared the story of Abraham. He emphasized those moments when God gave Abraham a promise despite having no child. He said that Abraham’s descendant would possess the land that God showed him.
This is a beautiful reminder for all of us. We have certain aspects in life wherein just like Abraham, it seems like we have nothing. We would somehow question God about His promises because there are still empty spaces in our lives that needs to be filled. It seems so impossible to believe that God would perform miracles in areas where we sometimes feel hopeless.
But then, let’s remember that God is faithful. He did what He promised to Abraham. And if we would try to exercise our faith, then surely, God would also do the same thing in our lives. We may experience a season where it feels so hard to believe in God because what He promised is the exact opposite of what you experienced, but faith exists for a purpose. It’s there to give us the chance to hope for things that we didn’t see yet. Faith is the assurance that what God said will come to pass.
God will fill the empty spaces in your heart with His promises. So if you feel like what you deeply desire is impossible to happen because of your limitations, and weaknesses, then know that it’s where God would birth His miracles. Be patient and keep your faith. Stay in His presence, and He will give you the courage to wait for His promises. The God who fulfills Abraham’s promises is the same God who will perform miracles in your life.
Even if Abraham had no child yet, God promised Him with descendants. Now, the question is, will you also believe in what God said despite your situation? Will you keep your faith?
Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for giving us your promises. I pray that you will give us the faith to believe in what you said. May you bless us with the courage to obey your will, and the grace to wait for your promises to be fulfilled. Be glorified always and forever. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, amen.
