Give up your Selfish desires, and you will experience more of Jesus
We all have plans that we desire to happen in our lives. We wanted to do things on our own, thinking that it could satisfy our hearts. But there are moments when we unknowingly ask for something out of our selfish desires, and it’s hard for us to admit it. This is the reason why it’s very important to align our hearts to God before we take any major steps in achieving our dreams. Try to ask yourself if what you have in mind is for the purpose of glorifying God or just for your own pleasure and entertainment.
It’s very crucial to know the deeper reason why you do what you do. In the long run, you will go through obstacles that will test your BIG “why”. And your situation will reveal your intentions and the way you look at yourself. So if you do things out of your own benefit, you will slowly see yourself drifting away from God. You will treat your own knowledge and skills as the king of your life. Your faith will fade, and you will find it hard to see His ways in everything that you do. Because of that, your relationship with Him will be affected. You won’t treasure His blessings, and you will just end up living a life outside His presence.
Before the worst thing happens, pray that God will teach you how to discipline yourself. Be humble enough to acknowledge His will and allow Him to correct you through the trials you experienced. Be patient in moments when you can’t understand what He is doing because it’s the best way for you to grow and prosper. And not only that, you will also discover who Jesus is. You’ll know what it means to follow our Heavenly Father. When you learn to make sacrifices for His glory, you will experience an intimate relationship with your Savior.
If you want to know Him more, then you need to learn how to surrender. It takes a humble heart to follow God’s will. But even if it is challenging, you can still trust that His hands will be there. You will receive more of His miracles, and rest assured that your faith will be stronger. Your life will be even more meaningful because God’s hands are always there. You will never miss every moment because you learn to fully depend on His presence.
