Humility comes before Honor

God honors those people who are humble. That’s why, if He is teaching you right now how to humbly accept His ways in your life, then it means that He is leading you to a higher level. God will let you experience promotions and breakthroughs after that humbling moment. So hold on and don’t easily give up. Embrace the lesson that God wants you to learn. You may not understand the reason why you need to go through that difficult part of the journey, but trust that God is transforming your heart. He is renewing your mind. He is changing you from the inside out. Keep walking and don’t lose heart. Trust in His plans.

He wants to fix your heart so that you won’t be tempted to follow your pride. Be patient and keep your faith. One day, you will thank God for allowing you to go through that moment. You will realize how blessed you are for letting you experience humbling situations that changed your life.

Stop following your ego. You will fail to receive more of God’s blessings if you keep on listening to your selfish desires. Humble yourself in the Lord. Do not depend on your own strength. Accept the truth that God alone knows what’s ahead, so follow His voice. Pray for an obedient heart that’s willing to obey His commands even in moments when you feel scared.

If you want to experience what it means to receive honor in the presence of God, then you need to go through the process of purification. Allow the blood of Jesus to take away the impurities in your heart. Surrender to Him the things that hinder you from receiving more of God’s blessings. The journey won’t be easy. Sometimes, you will experience unbearable pain. But remember that He will never do something that will destroy your soul in the end. Everything that He allows you to go through, including those painful moments, will eventually purify your heart and make it stronger.

God will teach you how to humble yourself when you go through the wilderness or experience a terrible heartbreak. In those moments, you will be reminded that there are things in life that you can’t control. And even if you did your best to make everything perfect, still you will meet circumstances that will challenge your character.

He will expose what’s in your heart, and in the most painful seasons of your life, you will realize that God is sovereign, and you badly need Him. You will experience the kind of thirst that this world can’t satisfy. You will only find it in the arms of God. And that humbling days of your life will help you stay rooted in His love. It’s not easy, but it’s a very important part of the journey.

Remember that the honor you will receive in this world is very different from what God can give you. Other people tend to respect you if you are rich or in a higher position. But God is different. He honors those who chose to humble themselves and serve others. People will demand certain standards so that you will be acknowledged and honored, but in the eyes of God, you don’t have to do anything extravagant. Just choose to put Him first and believe in His power. You just have to learn how to genuinely love His people and obey His words – that’s what humbling yourself truly means.
