I Changed My Prayer

Instead of praying for the things I want
I decided to ask God to give me the things
That I truly need

Instead of asking God to change my situation
I choose to pray for a humble heart
That always seeks His will

Instead of asking Him to stop the storm
I learned to pray for strength
To overcome all the hardships that I’m facing

Instead of praying for someone to come in
I just ask Him to teach me
How to be truly satisfied in Him

I learned that God knows best
His plans are greater
That’s why I changed my prayers

Instead of asking Him to answer all my heart’s desires
I just give Him the chance to teach me
How to wait and be patient
