It Takes Maturity To Learn How To Pray For Those People Who Broke Your Heart
Loving those people who caused you pain is never an easy thing. It takes courage and so much faith. You may think that it’s impossible to do it, but Jesus says in His word, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” This command may be challenging, but God’s grace will always be there to teach you how to do it. You just have to increase your faith and open your heart even more so that the pain will subside and you will receive the love of God. His love alone will give you the courage to pray for those people who broke your heart.
It may take some time to heal the wounds inside, but choose to surrender everything to God. Pray that God will change your perspective. He alone can teach you how to accept the painful things that happened in your life. He may not explain everything to you, but you will realize that His peace is just what you need. Let Him do the mending. You can never make it on your own. You need the grace of God. He will teach you how to forgive those people who broke your trust. You will know how to pray for them, as long as you allow God to take good care of your heart.
You know that you are growing when you learn to separate the sin from the sinner. Their mistakes are not their identity. They may hurt you, but that doesn’t mean they are bad people. You never really know their heart. The truth is, just like you, they are also hurting inside. You may see them as sometimes arrogant and boastful, but deep inside, they also need the healing of God. So try your best not to judge them. Instead, focus on the love of God and remind yourself that bad things may happen to your life, but your situation can never change the fact the God is good after all.
We live in a broken world that is also full of broken people. Nobody is perfect, and everyone can commit mistakes. But despite all of our imperfections, God still loves us, and that will never change. The moment you realize that God’s love is consistent regardless of the things you are doing, you will feel in awe of Him, and it will lead you to forgive others. It will inspire you to also love those people who turn your heart into pieces. You will be able to pray for them, not because you understand them, but because you simply receive God’s grace.
