Love

It’s hard to love when you are still hurting

It’s hard to open our hearts when it is still busy dealing with the pain. You can’t simply dictate to stop it from crushing. You can’t simply program your mind to forget what happened.

That’s the truth about pain and love that we easily forget. We sometimes think that we can find healing the moment we open our hearts again, but then we only have one heart. And it’s not like our minds that we can just do two things at a time. Our hearts can either receive the love or feel the pain.

Now, which one are you receiving right now, love or pain?

If it’s love, then I’m glad that you are already there. I’m happy that you are finally ready to embrace it.

But if it’s pain, then perhaps it’s your heart telling you that it needs healing. It’s giving you signals that it needs rest and mending. So instead of being busy finding new love again, why not embrace the pain for a moment and give yourself the time to process everything?

Pause, breathe, and help yourself.

The process won’t be easy, but it would take longer if you just keep ignoring the pain.

It would get worse.

On the outside, you look okay, but deep within, you are already struggling to survive.

This is the reason why you need to face it. And you will never be alone along the journey. God will be there to help you.

Just humbly come to His presence and ask for His strength. Know that you can’t make it on your own. You need God’s power. You need His grace and healing.

And when you choose to embrace the pain, process what you feel, and allow yourself to heal, that’s the time when you can finally receive true love again.
