His Word

Jesus Is The Hope That You Need

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Luke 4:18-21, NIV

Jesus read the scroll of the prophet Isaiah and then proclaimed, “Today, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” This is exactly what Jesus did when he was here on earth. He proclaimed the good news to the poor. He set the captives free. He healed the sick and opened the eyes of the blind. Jesus brought hope to the people and gave them the chance to dream of a bright future. And not only that, but Jesus also continued to share this hope even after He died.

His suffering on the cross gave the humanity the chance to experience true life. His blood washed away our sins. Jesus died but he was resurrected. This simply means that He already conquered the grave. And those who will believe in Him will receive eternal life. They will be made whole. And they will receive healing.

So, if you are going through a difficult season right now, then remember the love that Jesus poured out for you on the cross. There is still hope. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit so that we will experience His grace and presence even if we live in this broken world. Through His works, we will receive healing and everlasting life. So, fix your eyes on Him. Let Jesus be the center of your life and you will find the strength that you need.

He will set you free from your painful past. He will transform and restore your wounded heart. So, allow His love to reign in your life. He is the hope that you need. He is the answer to your prayers. Jesus is the One who can fulfill the emptiness in your heart. He is just waiting for you to surrender everything.

Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for reminding me about your great love. Thank you for setting me free from my sins and for healing my heart. As I continue to serve you, Lord, I pray that you will lead me close to your heart so that I will be reminded of your goodness and grace. Help me, Father, so that I may learn to focus on your love despite the challenges that I will face. This I ask and pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
