Just love your Children and Surrender them to Jesus
This is for all the parents out there who are worrying about their children’s future. Raising them is not an easy thing to do. Your role as a parent is very crucial in your children’s lives. You serve as a model and a mentor for them. Not only that, they heavily rely on your love, especially the younger ones. So do not carry that role on your own. Come to Jesus, and He will help you.
Remember that we live in a broken world. It means that no matter how much you try to protect your children, there will be instances when they will experience pain and brokenness in life. And the way they react to the negative circumstances they will encounter will depend on their foundation and core values. Such things will be developed while growing up and with your help as a parent.
In order for your children to be prepared enough, always remember these two important things: love them with all your heart and surrender them to Jesus.
First, you need to be intentional as a parent. For you to love them with the best that you can, you must make a commitment to stay with them no matter what happens. This is not just about physical attachment, but it’s more about providing for their emotional needs. A person will find it hard to stay connected to someone who doesn’t make them feel loved and accepted. Just make sure that you speak their love language so that they will be reminded about your presence.
Choose to affirm them instead of focusing on their mistakes. Give them enough quality time so that when they grow older, they will remember your love for them. If they know that their parents love and accept them for who they are, they will stop looking for love in the wrong places. And when they feel so broken, they will be strong enough to fight for it.
Second, choose to surrender them to Jesus. You don’t know what’s ahead. That’s why the best thing that you can do to help your children is to shield them with prayers. Humbly ask for God’s guidance and protection. Have faith that Jesus will take good care of them, just like how He took good care of you. Trust that He will move in their lives and that He will make a way. If you, as an imperfect human, loved your children so much, then how much more God, who personally created and molded them? He will provide them with what they need. Don’t worry. Accept the truth that even before you meet your children, God already owns them. So put your trust in Him .
Remember that you can’t stop your children from experiencing brokenness and pain. The best that you can do is prepare them by filling their hearts with love and surrendering their lives to Jesus. Know that God loves them so much. They are part of His creation. And He purposely created them for greater things. Keep your faith in Him. Just do your part and let God take good care of the rest. He knows that you are doing your best. Rest in His presence and allow Him to lead your children to the right path.
