May you Realize that Your Value is not Based on What you Do

You are who you are not because of the things that you do for others. You are important not because of your ability and strength. God accepts you not because you choose to serve Him. He loves you even before you know Him, even before you are born here on earth, even before you learned to praise and worship His name. You are so valuable not because you tried so hard just to gain everybody’s approval. You are accepted even before you do anything. So stop trying to do your best just to know your worth. Do not look at yourself according to your accomplishments. You deserve love simply because you are God’s precious child. You are His treasured possession.

Following God is not about relying on your effort, but it’s about believing in His grace and who He created you to be. Stop pleasing other people. You may think that they can make you feel loved and accepted, but you will feel exhausted if you keep on doing what they want. You can never please everybody. So instead of focusing on what you can do just to earn your value, choose to set your eyes on God and listen to Him. This is not about you. But it’s about the One who created you and put you into existence. You are alive because of Him, and He alone determines your true worth.

You are who God says you are. Other people don’t have the authority to dictate your worth. They never know your story and don’t have any clue about what you are going through. Listen to God because He is the only One who knows you from the inside out. You are worthy. You are precious in His eyes. He is your Father, and He will never doubt you. He believes in your heart, and He will never stop loving you. 

Maybe you feel like you are not enough because you think that your efforts are too small. But then, God looks at your heart more than He sees your actions. He is aware of who you are. So cast all your worries upon Him. Tell Him everything that you feel. And never forget your identity in His presence because if you know who you are, you will never be easily shaken by what other people are saying about you. Instead of listening to them, you will have the courage to move forward because you trust the One who knows you so well.
