Repay Evil With Good
“Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.” Sadly, this is usually what the world follows. You would rarely see people who would repay evil with good deeds. Repaying painful words with unforgiveness, heartbreaking deeds with bitterness and grudge, mistakes with disrespect. These are the common things you would experience. But here comes Paul, trying to remind us to do good despite the pain.
IT’S NOT EASY. But it’s possible. It takes dying and surrender. And the more you do what is right in the eyes of God, the more you will long for His love. When you realize that you can’t do it on your own, and you badly need His strength and grace, that’s when you will grow closer to Him. Doing what is right will lead you to God’s heart. It takes an intentional decision, and His love will give you the courage to do it.
So, if you happen to experience painful things from others, then keep this verse in mind. Do what pleases God. Surrender the pain and questions to Him. He understands your heart. And just because you can’t see or feel His justice doesn’t mean He is not doing something behind the scenes. Vengeance is not yours. Let God do His thing.
People who choose to repay evil for good are those who trust God enough to move in the midst. And just because you choose to be kind doesn’t mean you are on the losing side of the game. It only means that you allow God to take over. Remember that there are things that you can’t control. Holding on to bitterness and grudges will slowly kill your soul. Before it’s too late, go to God and let His love heal your broken heart.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for giving me the chance to grow in your presence. As I continue this journey with you, I pray for your guidance and strength. Please heal my wounded heart and give me the courage to forgive those who hurt me. I pray that you will fill my heart with hope so that I may not focus on the bad things that happened. Instead, I will choose to trust in your Name. This I ask, in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
