Sometimes, God Takes Away the Blessing so that you Won’t Forget about the Blesser

God is a good God, and He is also a God who desires to be with you. A Father who wants to connect with you, a friend who wants to support and talk to you. He is a God who wants to have a close relationship with you. He is intimate and doesn’t settle for shallow conversation; God wants your heart.

He loves spending time with you and takes good care of you. That’s why He has provided you with more than enough blessings, hoping that somehow you will learn to thank Him and trust in His goodness. The wonderful gifts He gave are mere reflections of His great love, and they are not idols to fix your eyes on and sometimes worship.

Blessings are there to point us to God. But sadly, there are instances when we tend to focus on what He gave rather than the Giver Himself. We put our trust in God’s blessings rather than the Blesser Himself. For instance, we rely on the security that our money or job could give more than we believe in God’s goodness. Somehow, we focus on the riches we acquire here on earth rather than fixing our minds on God’s love and presence. We fix our gaze on temporary things rather than believing in His promises. It’s a trap that most of us experience.

But thank God, He is there to save us from deeper pain. However, there are moments when His way of saving us comes through tears. Sometimes, it’s hidden behind every goodbye. It’s behind the word surrender. Behind every rejection and closed door is God’s salvation. Simply telling us these important words, “My child, come and fix your eyes on me. Blessings are temporary, but here I am, the only ‘constant’ in your life. Take my hand. Let’s start again. This time around, remember that I am the source of every blessing. In my arms, your heart will never be thirsty again.”
