Sometimes, what Hurts you Affects what you do
A simple act that happens even in a concise amount of time can affect how you think and behave about things or people. It will last for a while or even a lifetime if left unhealed. It does not mean that the past will stay in the past. Because what happened in the past will always find its way to appear in the future. Such things caused you so much pain and trouble. The event may have occurred already, but how you now respond to things has changed. You may deny it and say it’s done already, but be careful because it may leave you with an unhealed wound. Some hurts may not feel the same way as before, but it channels their way through your actions and words that are sometimes ignored.
See and notice how you respond to things and people. Sometimes, you did something that was not good or said something unintentionally. Sometimes, you will surprise yourself and wonder why you utter and behave in such a way. It may be because you were treated similarly in the past that caused you to defend yourself even in circumstances where you are not necessarily to behave in such a way. Sometimes, you will utter hurtful words, not because you intend to, but because your past may have taught you harshly. Maybe, what you learned is to respond to things right away by overstepping the important stuff unconsciously. But see and feel it within you. Sometimes, it is not just because it is your personality but because it is what you have gone through in the past. It is about your unhealed pain and hurt that still lingers in your heart and mind.
Your acts are a product of your past. But always remember that it does not always define who you are. You are a masterpiece in the making. There are stages and troubles in life that you need to conquer to be a better version of yourself. But don’t worry, you can always ask God for the way. Seek Him and let Him reveal to you what your pain is telling you. Let Him heal you by submitting everything to Him. Humble yourself and ask for strength. Let Him strengthen you to build the courage you need to face your pain. It may be difficult, but it is not impossible to accept them. Just remember, life could teach us ways that are too difficult for us to swallow. But know that some bitter pills can cure it.
Be gentle and patient with yourself. Notice when your actions change unexpectedly and allow God to intervene and talk to your heart in deciphering the wise thing to do. Always remember, no need to be too harsh on yourself because you are still learning, and there are so many things that God is about to teach you. Instead of blaming for what other people did to you, build your identity in Him who knows you better than anyone else. Put God in the center and let Him be a part of every decision you make. Remember, He is a healer and a miracle worker; nothing is impossible for Him. So, humble yourself and submit to Him; you will learn His ways along your journey.
