Sometimes What’s Real Is Something You Can’t See
To see is to believe. That’s what people say when they want to know a specific truth. They always want evidence. But what if the truth they’re really looking for is something they can’t see?
Today, in this fast changing world, we experience a lot of things that somehow makes us forget how to discern what is real or not. Just because someone laughs doesn’t mean that he/she is truly happy. Just because a person receives prestigious awards doesn’t mean he/she really feels victorious on the inside. And just because a person is famous or rich doesn’t mean that he/she is satisfied and contented.
What we see is sometimes not the reality. Most of the time, what you see on the surface is opposite of what is really happening on the inside. And unfortunately, people tend to put so much attention on the things they can see and touch. They place value on people according to their physical appearance and social status. On top of that, they buy all sorts of material things they don’t need thinking it could satisfy them. In result, people forget that what matters most is beyond what our eyes could ever perceive–it is what’s on the inside of a person.
Whether you like it or not, the real you on the inside will come out. A lot of circumstances will trigger you that will force you to come out from hiding. You may not see it now but in one way or another, the people around you will eventually discover who you are. That’s why, before it’s too late, learn to deal your weaknesses. Face it and allow the people around you to accept who you truly are. And only then you will experience love. The kind of love that will make you realize that there is nothing you should be afraid of.
If you want to live life to the fullest you have to face the reality. It’s time for you to stop pretending. What matters most is not what others think of you but how you look at yourself. You aren’t entitled to please other people. You don’t have to put a mask and pretend that everything’s okay. Sometimes, it’s okay not to be okay. We all have our own fears. We all have our weaknesses, and we all have our pain. The people may not see it but that’s the truth. And perhaps, that’s just a part of life.
Sometimes the truth is something that other people can’t easily grasp.
So if you want something genuine and true in this thing called life, then learn to look beyond what you can see. Look beyond a person’s smile, dig deeper beyond a person’s cry, and listen beyond the words that you can hear. Because it is in those times that you will experience more about love, relationship and above all, more about God.
