Sometimes, You go back to the past because you Can’t Appreciate your Present
You are surrounded by great blessings. But sad to say, you fail to appreciate them because you keep on thinking about the things that you experienced. You can’t see the good things around you because you are still living in the past and keep trying to recall those moments when you still have everything you wanted. It’s time to move on. You can never bring back the past. The things that happened in your life have a purpose. You are who you are right now because God wanted you to grow and learn new things. So stop staying in a place that no longer exists. The reality lies in your present. So live with what you have and be grateful for the things that you receive in life.
Move forward and enjoy your life. Remember that your time here on earth is too short. So instead of trying to recall your past, choose to make the most of the resources that God has given you. Learn to appreciate the people around you. Stop looking back. Instead, hold God’s hands and let Him give you the courage to keep on walking even in moments when you go through challenges. Let the joy of the Lord be your source of strength. Depend on Him, and He will teach you how to value your past without destroying your present.
Open your eyes for God’s blessings. Pray that God will let you see the wonderful things around you. Know that you are surrounded by so many opportunities. But you fail to see them because you expect something else to happen. Because of what you experienced in the past, you tend to put God in a box, thinking that He can only do limited things in your life. But the truth is, He can perform miracles as long as you allow Him. So expect great things to happen and don’t just rely on your own understanding.
Going back to the past can never change your present, but there’s a possibility that your life will be ruined because you no longer appreciate the things that you experienced. When you keep looking back, you will not appreciate the lessons that God wants you to learn. Instead of feeling so grateful, you will feel disappointed because your perspective is so different. So let God reign in your life, and you will learn to treasure your present.
