Teach Me How To Rest Lord

Father God,

Please teach me how to rest Lord
I just don’t know how to do it
I know I wanted to pause for a while
Because it seems like I’m so troubled inside
But I don’t know where to start Lord

Please teach me how to trust in you
I can’t surrender everything because I’m afraid
I’m scared to feel the pain again
Take away all my fears inside Lord
That I may be able to choose your love always

I wanted to take a break Lord
Maybe I’m just too bombarded
with a lot of negative things
To the point that I feel so helpless
Teach me how to believe in your power

Open my heart, Lord
And heal all the pain I have inside
Increase my faith in you
Teach me how to accept the things that I can’t control
Give me a humble heart Lord
That I may always listen to your words
And follow your voice

I can’t seem to find the exact words
to describe what I feel inside
It’s so chaos and messed up
That’s why I need You to rescue me

I wanted to be with you Lord
I want to know you even more
I want to encounter your love every day
Teach me how to honor you even when I’m struggling

I just want your peace Lord
Because you alone can satisfy my heart
Take away all the burdens I feel inside
I just want to be in Your presence
I want to give myself the chance to rest
Please teach me how to do it
