The Tent Of The Upright Will Flourish

The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

Proverbs 14:11, NIV

Sometimes, we tend to boast about the life we built despite the bad things we did. We put our trust in things that are temporary instead of relying on God. But in this verse, we are reminded that the righteous will flourish in the end. The wicked may appear to live in a house or a secure place, but in the end, they will be destroyed. Their foundation won’t last long.

That’s why let’s choose to do good and be kind to others. Let’s do the right thing in the eyes of God. This may not always be an easy thing to do, but let’s remember that He is watching. He knows our hearts. He is aware of our thoughts and selfish desires.

One day, when the time is right, God will bless the good seeds that we planted. It may not happen instantly, but when everything is ready, the seeds will bear good fruits that will bless not just our lives but also His name.

So, if you feel disappointed right now because it seems like the wicked are more blessed, then keep this verse in mind. They will be destroyed in the end. One day, they will pay the consequences of their bad choices. They will face God and be held accountable to the things that they did. And instead of focusing on them, set your eyes on God. Follow His voice and do what’s right.

Do not be tempted to take the shortcuts. Respect God’s process and ways. You may find it hard to persevere because it seems like nothing is happening. But trust that God is moving in the midst. He is there, giving you the grace that you need. Follow His words, and you will be strengthened. One day, you will flourish.

Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for reminding me to do the right thing. Please give me the courage to choose you over the temporary things of this world. Purify my heart that I may learn to follow and obey you. Teach me how to trust in your love and depend on your promises. This, I ask and pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
