There Is No Such Thing As Perfect Parents
If you experience a lot of pain because of your parents, you need to put this in your heart. The pain may be challenging for you to handle, but then, your parents are also humans. They are not perfect, and they also commit mistakes. They also have to face many struggles in life, and you don’t really know the story behind all their actions. That’s why you need to pray for the kind of heart that’s always willing to understand.
I know that experiencing painful moments from our parents is a really deep thing, but we really need to face all those painful memories so that we will learn to live this life to the fullest. The pain that we feel inside will hinder us from loving others. It will create fear on the inside, and it will stop us from achieving breakthroughs in life. Yes, it’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s the only solution to get over it. Learn to face it.
Sometimes, we can’t really understand the situation around us. We all have different questions in life: “Why did they choose to leave us behind?” or “Why did they keep on hurting us?”. You may not know the answers to your questions right now, but just pray for the kind of heart that’s always willing to love. Because at the end of the day, they are your parents and they will always be part of your life.
Maybe the pain is just so deep right now, and you think that you can’t forgive them. But then, always remember that hurt people hurt people. Maybe your parents also experienced a lot of pain before. That’s why they unknowingly pass the hurtful feelings to you. Just keep on praying to God. Pray that you may always have a humble heart to forgive them. And that one day, you will learn to love them with all your heart.
One day, you will experience what it feels like to become a parent, you will know how challenging it is to raise a kid. There are a lot of things that we really don’t know about them. Maybe we can’t understand them because we never really know what’s going on inside their hearts. And only God knows everything about it. So you better ask Him how to love them because God alone knows how to do it. After all, you are still blessed because God loves you. And His love is always there for you, especially when your parents can’t provide the kind of love you are looking for.
