Walk with Wise People

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 13:20, NIV

The people around you will eventually influence you to either become better or worse. If you want to obtain wisdom, then be with wise people.

Try to assess your environment right now. Are you growing? Are you learning from other people’s experiences? If your answer is “no,” then keep this verse in mind.

It would be very hard for you to make wise decisions if you are surround by people who don’t value growth and learning. You will find yourself struggling and alone if you keep on staying in an environment that neglects the ways of God.

If you want to walk with Him, then be with those people who are already committed to Him, and they will guide you along the journey. They will share many valuable lessons you can apply when times are tough. You are not meant to be alone. You need a companion. That’s why pray that God will lead you to the right people.

Jesus said in His word that if you will seek, then you will find. So, start looking for those people who can impart wisdom to you. Ask them from God, and He will open your eyes along the way. Only then will you learn to appreciate those wise people who are willing to walk with you along the journey.

Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for reminding me to walk with the right people. Please give me the courage to let go of those who already influenced me in a negative way. Teach me how to trust those you will send to guide and help me. Lead me to the right environment where I will be surrounded with wise and loving people. This I ask, and pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
