We Must Go Through Many Hardships To Enter The Kingdom Of God

Strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.

Acts 14:22, NIV

After Paul was stoned by the Jews, he went to Derbe. Then, he returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch to strengthen and encourage the people there. Even though he was physically in pain, he still chose to serve God and His people. He remained true to his faith and encouraged others to do the same thing.

Paul, in his wisdom, shared with them, “We must endure many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.” He and the early disciples understood that suffering was not in vain, but had a profound purpose in God’s plan. They knew it was an integral part of life, a necessary path to the Kingdom of God. In this moment, Paul wasn’t just preaching what he had learned, but what he had personally experienced and practiced.

He simply demonstrated to the people what it truly meant to enter the kingdom of God. They won’t go through a comfortable and very easy path. Instead, there will be hardships along the way. But if Paul was able to overcome those difficult situations, then the Holy Spirit that was in him will also strengthen us.

So, if you are going through a hard time right now, remember what Paul said: “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” Let’s allow the trials in our lives to mold and shape us to become better citizens of His kingdom. Let’s trust that as we continue to walk with Him, His love will strengthen and sustain us.

Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for reminding us to stay faithful and obedient to your word. Thank you for teaching us how to persevere even in the midst of suffering. We pray for you strength that we may continue to serve you will all of our hearts. We pray for your grace to move especially when we feel burdened inside. Be glorified in our lives Lord, always and forever. This, we ask, in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
