Poem

When You Are Not Okay

To you who is not okay
To you who wants to rest
To you who wants to go to a place
Where no one is watching
And just be yourself
This is for you

Sometimes, it’s okay not to be okay
It’s okay to admit that you are not feeling good,
May it be physically or emotionally
It’s better to acknowledge it rather than deny it to yourself

You deserve to be heard
So listen to what your heart feels
If you are scared, then acknowledge it
If you are tired, then admit it
If you don’t know what to do,
Then give yourself the time to process what you have in mind

Stop treating yourself as if you don’t deserve to rest
Stop putting high standards to yourself
Be good to yourself
Because you simply deserve it

Jesus didn’t die for you in the first place if you are not important
You are saved because He loves you so much
If the God who created this universe loves you that much
Then who are you to deny this kind of love to yourself?

All you have to do is to acknowledge the truth
That God is listening to your heart
People may not know what you truly feel inside
But always remember that you are so precious in the eyes of God

He wants to help you
And He couldn’t do it if you will not be honest
With what you truly feel inside
So the first step is to simply surrender it to God

Surrender all your fears
Tell Him about what you genuinely feel
Just be honest to Him
God is your best friend
He can be your best lover

If you will just allow Him to reign in your heart
You will experience miracles in your life
God can transform your heart
He can give you new perspectives in life

So never forget this
No matter what you feel inside
God will always stay
And He will continue to love you
Until you are ready to accept Him

He does not look at your flaws
In fact, He wanted to purify you
He doesn’t look at your actions
He simply looks at your heart
And He is just waiting for you to surrender

To the writer, Krizajo Tanduyan: I admire the way you write and share your reflections about the different concerns of life. Every time I read a post on this site, apparently it was you who wrote most of the things that I’ve read. Keep it up!
