When you Choose Love, You will Willingly Offer Sacrifices
Love can lead you to do things that you never did before. It will somehow limit your choices because it will depend on the consequences that the people you love will receive. With love, you will learn to make painful sacrifices that will eventually change your life. You will be able to offer your life for the sake of those people who are relying on you. And this is what Jesus did on the cross. He chose to love. God commanded Him to go down on earth so that He could save us. He was thinking of the eternal consequence that we will receive if He won’t sacrifice Himself. Love led Him to endure the pain. This is the reason why we all have the chance to see heaven. It’s all because of God’s love and mercy.
And the moment you choose to follow Jesus, you will also realize what this love truly means. He will ask you to make choices not for the sake of your own glory but for the purpose of serving others. He will give you the strength to accept other people’s mistakes despite the pain that you experience from them. He will teach you how to serve your enemies. It won’t be easy. Many times, you need to sacrifice the things that you want to do and follow His will. Your own desires need to die so that the will of God can prevail. It takes a lot of tears, but your journey with God is always worth it.
Offering sacrifices for the sake of those people you love will no longer be a big deal to you simply because God will give you the reasons why you need to do it. He will introduce you to His big and perfect love. And when you are fully consumed by His presence, you will then have the courage to take the hard steps just to serve and love the people around you. There will be times when His instructions won’t make sense to you, but if you just keep doing what He tells you even if you can’t see what’s ahead, then you will realize the purpose behind His words as you continue to walk. Just let His love guide you wherever you go.
God himself will show you what it means to truly sacrifice. He may lead you to a path where you need to make difficult choices but trust that He will be there to hold your hands. In love, you will never regret anything. If you do things out of your pure intention to love God and His people, then you will be fulfilled in the end. Your sacrifices will never be in vain. Offering your life for the sake of honoring God will lead you to receive a reward that this world can never give.
