You Have A Different Timeline, Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
You are scrolling to your social media feed, and you notice that your batch mates in high school or college already have their own house, own car, or perhaps own family. As you are reading their posts, you started to feel insecure about what you achieved in life. You compare yourself with them, and you began to assess your life. You pity yourself because you think that you haven’t accomplished that much. If you feel this way right now, then you need to stop.
You have a different timeline. Others’ success may not be the same version as yours. You are different and unique. Always remember that life has its own way of surprising you. Do not base your achievement according to the standard and riches of this world. Stop focusing on the things that will end up hurting you.
Learn to value yourself, appreciate the little things that you already achieved. It may appear small to you right now, but as you journey in life, you will eventually realize that it’s not just a simple achievement. Instead, it is one of the greatest things you ever achieve because you started to feel appreciated and valued in those simple things. Instead of looking at others’ achievements, try to assess your life and figure out what you already achieved.
We all experience different seasons in life. Others are still going through some tough battles of their pasts. Some are still learning to accept the realities of life. And some are already in the phase of having a family. We will all face different adventures in life, so we need to stop comparing our timeline to others.
The best thing that you can do right now is to live according to your season. Treasure every moment you have. Appreciate the people you are with because some of them will no longer be with you in the next season. Learn to motivate yourself according to your passion and be grateful. Thank God for what you have. Be happy with the things that you already achieved.
Life is not perfect, but the things that you will experience will transform you into a better person. You will not see it now, but one day you will thank God because He allowed you to experience the simple things in life. You are a great person. Not because of the things that you achieved but because the God who is in you is great. And as long as you are with Him, your future will always be beautiful and bright. So don’t worry. God will guide you all along the way.
