Your Living God Will Spare You From Going Down To The Pit

You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.

Psalm 30:3, NIV

Do you know what it feels like to be in the grave? There’s no life, peace, hope, future – there’s nothing there. Everything seems so meaningless. It’s so empty and dark. In the grave, I don’t feel safe. It’s like I’m constantly going through the motions of hopelessness. It feels like everything is about to end.

I just can’t imagine how David felt when he was in the realm of the dead and when he was going down to the pit. Perhaps he also felt scared. Perhaps he was also seeking help.

But then, despite the difficult things that he experienced, David experienced God’s salvation. He redeemed him. God rescued him from the darkness. He brought him back to the light. He spared him from something that would destroy his soul. God remained good and faithful in his life.

If you are going through a season wherein you feel like you are going down to a pit, if you think that there’s no hope left for you, if you are going through suffering, and you feel like you are dying. Then, may this verse empower you today.

God will rescue you.

God can take you out of the darkness. He can rescue you from that misery that you are living in. He will let His light shine upon you, and He will break the chains that are holding you back.

And just like David, He will bring you up from the realm of the dead. Your living God will spare you from going down to the pit.

Prayer: Loving Father, thank you so much for giving me hope. Thank you for reminding me that you are there and you will rescue me. I pray for faith, Lord. Teach me how to trust in you, especially when I’m in the darkness. Please teach me how to respond to your word and give me the courage to hold on to your promises. Lead me to your ways so that I may not be overwhelmed when things don’t go according to my plans. I pray for more of you in my life, Jesus. Be glorified and be magnified, my Lord. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
