3 Important Things That You Should Stop Controlling

There are things in life that you should learn to surrender because if you hold on to them, you will be deeply frustrated. If your expectations are not aligned with the reality that you are in, then your heart will surely break. It may not be easy to give up the things that you wanted to happen but trust that God knows what’s best for you. He is aware of what you truly need.

So, before you experience a devastating moment, learn to take note of the important things that you should let go:

1. God’s timing

Submit your own timeline to God. You may have your plans, but you need to open your heart to the possibility that God has a different plan for you. His timing may not be the same as your schedule but trust in His goodness and love. You may set your goals, but before you put all your efforts into achieving those desires, submit them first to your Heavenly Father, and He will align you to His will. He will direct your path and give you more than enough grace. Pray for His confirmation. Read His words so that you will have the courage to move forward, especially when your plans are not happening.

2. People’s perception

It’s difficult to accept other people’s perceptions, especially when it contradicts our beliefs. When we hear opinions that are not aligned with our principles, we tend to judge others and put biases that eventually destroy our relationships. This is why we need to stop controlling other people’s judgment. We need to learn how to respect them as a person despite the differences in our beliefs. Remember that we see things differently. And the truth is, we can never dictate someone to think the way we do. If you don’t want to be stressed and exhausted, learn to let go. Accept the truth that people are not always the same.

3. Future

Surrender your future to God. Lay down all your worries in His throne and let Him take good care of you. Expect great things to happen. When we are too caught up with what lies ahead, we forget how to live in the present. We miss God’s blessings because our worries consume our hearts. You must stop holding on to the things you are meant to let go of. Allow God to move and let Him lead you to a better tomorrow.

I am inspired by your write-ups regardless of the subject matter. I often quote or copy paste entire message or even just a paragraph that I think is helpful to a friend who is going through some challenges. Personally there are instances sometimes that a topic is directed to answer the challenges that I face at a particular moment.
