Allow Jesus to teach you what it means to Truly Love others

Love is not that easy to give, especially when you just rely on your own strength. When you are faced with imperfect people, you will realize that staying committed and connected to them is so difficult. This is the reason why you need Jesus to teach you how to truly love others. You must learn to rely on His grace and His strength so that you will be able to keep walking despite the mistakes that others committed. The love that He showed on the cross will help you realize what it means to die for yourself so that others will leave. It’s sacrificial love. It takes supernatural courage to do it, and you can only find it in the arms of your Savior. It’s not based according to your feelings, but it’s a commitment and a decision that you need to consistently choose.

True love is God. Imperfect people are just mere vessels. Whatever love it is that you receive from others, it all comes from the One who loved you first. You may not always feel His presence, but He is with you all along. He sometimes uses people who are willing to make sacrifices for you. But it doesn’t mean that you should adore and worship them. God just used them to remind you what it means to love. Set your eyes on the only One who can give you the comfort that you need. Look at Jesus and gaze upon His goodness in your life. Only then will you slowly realize that you are His precious beloved. It’s Him who can teach you what it means to care for others.

Jesus went through different sorts of suffering, but still, He chose to love despite all the pain. That’s why it’s true and genuine. Mere humans can’t give us what Jesus offered. So instead of trusting on your own strength and on other people, it’s better to come to Him and ask for guidance. Humbly seek His face and let Him transform your heart so that you can love others better. Learn from His ways. Remember that He never condemned those who tortured and mocked Him. He didn’t curse those disciples who chose to leave Him in the middle of His suffering. He was abandoned and rejected by people, but Jesus chose to love and forgive despite what He went through. This is what it means to truly love others.

Treat Jesus as your ultimate source of love. Focus on the giver and not on the blessings. You can’t give away the things that you don’t have. So open your heart first and allow Jesus to pour out the love that you need. Only then will you have the strength to also love others despite the pain you experienced from them. Love may not be easy, but if you treat God as your ultimate reason why you want to stay connected to the people around you, then you will always receive the strength that you need.
