Apply What You Learned From God
Peter was one of Jesus’ disciples who witnessed so many miracles. When Jesus was here on earth, Peter, also known as Simon, was one of those followers who learned so much from the ministry of Jesus. He saw him heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. In Acts 9, Peter just applied what he had learned from His mentor. What He did was so familiar that it seemed like he remembered what Jesus did to Jairus’ daughter in Luke 8.
It was written in verses 51-53, “When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep. They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”
Peter witnessed what Jesus did to the young girl. In the same way, he also sent the people out of the room, and he prayed. After that, he also commanded Tabitha to rise up just like what Jesus did to Jairus’ daughter. In short, Peter simply applied what he learned from his Teacher.
Most of the time, God will teach us so many lessons in life. The bible itself had a lot of things that we could learn. And what we needed to do was for us to apply what God taught us. Everything would be wasted if we won’t do what He commanded us. At some point, God also showed us how to love by the way He loved us. He showed us how to serve those who needed help by the way he served and assisted us all along the way.
All it takes is for us to obey and apply what we learned, just like Peter did. He tried to do what Jesus commanded him to do. He healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead, and proclaimed the Gospel. This reminds us to always put into action what we learned from God.
Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for teaching us so many things in life. Thank you for guiding us on what to do. We pray for a humble heart that’s always willing to apply the lessons that you taught us. Give us the courage to fight for our fears. Help us overcome our weaknesses so that we may be able to glorify and honor your name in the end. This we ask, in Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.
