God Wants To Connect To Your Wounded Soul
There are things in life that are hard to explain. You know it’s there, but it’s just hard to find the right words to describe it. Many times, it will only burst out when there are triggers. When there are unexpected twists and turns that you hoped never happened. At first, it didn’t seem to be a problem. You used to live with it, thinking that it’s already part of your life. You get tired of pushing it away, and now, you just allow that indescribable thing to creep in and consume your soul. People often call it anger. Others refer to it as outbursts or simply negative behavior. But those are just symptoms. Behind what’s physically evident is an invisible wound that needs to be healed.
God wants to connect to the wounded soul who tries to escape from the reality he is living in. He wants to talk to the bleeding heart who seeks complete healing. He is not just connecting to a person who has so many dreams and aspirations, but He is also comforting that inner child in you who needs assurance and answers. He is talking to that anxious soul who finds it hard to trust in His promises. God is dealing with someone who has a broken past. When He talks and moves in your life, He appears to be so kind and gentle simply because He sees your struggling soul and wants to make it whole.
So don’t just present the good and positive parts of your story. Surrender to God even those things that you hate and moments that hurt. Tell Him the truth because it makes a lot of difference. When you acknowledge the fact that you can’t hide anything from God, that’s when you will experience the freedom to be real and genuine without any fear of judgment. He may be aware of the status of your soul, but it feels different when you learn to accept that God loves not just the version of you who tries to abide in Him but also that version of you who is wounded and filled with doubts and questions.
God knows all your fears. And every time He asks you to believe, He sees not just your bright future but also your painful past. When He commands you to keep moving, God sees not just your potential, but He is also aware of the doubts in your head. When He asks you to receive His love, He sees not just your strengths, but He knows that you need Him because of your weaknesses. He wants to connect to you – even to that version of you who experienced so much pain and heartache. He wants you to present your wounded heart to Him so that He can slowly heal and restore it.
