If You Find Wisdom, Your Hope Will Not Be Cut Off
Wisdom. We seldom hear this word from the world. Most of the time, we only hear the words smart, brilliant, intelligent, practical, or perhaps excellent. But the word ‘wisdom’ is like a rare treasure that we somehow hear from people who are not that influential, rich, or famous. It’s a gift hidden behind the words written in the bible. Sad to say, few people only received it since it’s not necessarily considered important in the eyes of the world.
But Solomon reminded us in Proverbs 24 that wisdom will give us hope. When we are bombarded with so many unexpected situations in life, wisdom is there to remind us of what matters most in the end. It’s like honey that is good for our souls. Maybe this is the reason why Solomon asked for wisdom instead of the riches of this world. He knew that it is greater than what he could acquire here on earth.
One of the worst things that Christians would experience is losing hope. It’s like you are in the middle of a dark road, where you can’t find any reason to hold on. When you feel like your dreams are already shattered, you won’t be able to appreciate the blessings around you. The sad part is that you will find yourself trapped and deeply wounded. Receiving hope is like seeing God’s light in the middle of a dark season. And wisdom will help you find it.
Wisdom will give you hope that you will not be cut off. That’s why you ask for it. Instead of focusing on the temporary things that you want to receive, learn to pray for wisdom because it will sustain you until the end. Wisdom will lead you to follow God’s will. It’s a precious treasure that this world can never give. Only the Holy Spirit can offer you the wisdom that you need.
So, if you feel so hopeless right now because of the challenges you experienced, then perhaps what you need is wisdom. What you need is guidance from God and the right mindset. What you need is something that will give you hope in the end.
Prayer: Father, thank you for allowing me to receive your wisdom. I pray that you will always remind me how important it is in my life. Give me a heart that’s willing to seek your wisdom. Teach me how to focus on the things that matter most in life. Lead me to the path where I will experience more of your hope and love. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
