Keep Your Faith Even When You Are Accused Or Misunderstood
Stephen was a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. He boldly testified about who Jesus is. He also performed miracles and wonders among the people. Because of this, opposition arose, and some members of the synagogue argued with him. He was brought before the Sanhedrin, and he heard false accusations from people who opposed his beliefs. They were looking intently at Stephen. And instead of seeing a terrified man, what they saw was a face of an angel.
Perhaps Stephen was so secure in the presence of God that he had perfect peace in his heart. He knew that no matter what happens, his life is always worth living for Jesus. He doesn’t focus on the bad things or obstacles that he experienced. In fact, it seems like he no longer thinks of himself. Instead, he continued to live according to his faith.
The glory of God was manifested in his life. And his enemy even witnessed it. He lived a surrendered life that greatly reflects Jesus. He lived not for the purpose of satisfying his own desires. Instead, he fixed his eyes on the mission that God planted in his heart. Stephen didn’t waver. He didn’t lose hope. Instead, the presence of God was so evident in his life that even the people who hated him experienced its manifestation and power.
This is a great reminder for us to keep our faith even in moments when we are accused or misunderstood. Just like Stephen, let’s live a selfless life that’s willing to go through hardships just for the gospel to be preached. Let’s not focus on the obstacles that we face. Instead, let’s allow the perfect peace of God to fill our hearts. That people may see and experience what it means to receive His light. And that Jesus may shine, and our enemy would witness the glory of God in our lives.
Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for giving me the chance to experience your presence. Thank you for your great love. I pray that you will give me a humble heart that’s willing to obey your commands. I pray for a faith like Stephen that’s always willing to die and surrender for the sake of glorifying your name. May your love continue to reign in my heart so that I will be reminded of the reasons why I am here. This I pray, In Jesus’ name, amen.
