A Note to those who can’t Forgive Themselves

No one really understands the way you feel inside except God, but may these words remind you that you are loved and accepted. Remember that you are not perfect, and no matter what you do, there will be moments when you will commit mistakes. Maybe you can’t help it, that’s why you hate yourself because of the wrong things you did especially to those people you love the most, but if you always think about your failures and mistakes, then you will remain so stagnant because of what happened. You will never grow because you choose to hold on to the bitterness and not the lessons that you learned. You can receive peace as long as you let go of those things that keep you from your God-given destiny.

Remember that God loves you so much, and He wanted you to receive His grace. You can ask for forgiveness, and He will give it to you. Maybe those people you hurt can’t release that kind of forgiveness, but you need to set yourself free from condemnation. You may think that you don’t deserve peace, but know that God didn’t give us the grace that we need because we deserve it, but it’s all because of His great love for us. He just can’t afford to see us suffer. So come to God, and surrender everything to Him. Open your heart so that His love can come in and teach you how to accept yourself.

Yes, it’s not easy but choose to love and forgive yourself. You will never appreciate the fullness of God’s blessings if you will keep on looking at the negative things that happened in your life. The pain may not be that easy to handle, but you can always ask for God’s help. He can perform miracles in your life as long as you allow Him. Sometimes, you can’t accept your own mistakes because your expectations are too high. Please be gentle with yourself. Remember that you are not a robot. You need peace in your heart. And the best way to experience it is to let go of all the bitterness and pain.

You can’t fully love others not unless you learn to love yourself. This may be one of the hardest things to do in life, but once you take one small step at a time, you will slowly get to the place that God prepared for you. It will never happen instantly. It takes a long and sometimes heartbreaking process, but if you allow God to mold your heart, then you will realize that the pain is worth it. Know that the choice is always yours. You can always choose to live in bitterness or to receive God’s peace and joy.
