Faith Rarely Grows In Your Comfort Zone

If you try to recall the seasons in your life that help your faith grow, you will be surprised because it usually happens outside your comfort zone. It’s in moments of pain and heartache that you learn to treat God as your healer. It’s when you go through storms that you learn to hold on to His promises. It’s when you are confused and burdened that you manage to keep your faith. Those painful seasons that you went through became a stepping stone for you to discover who God is. You may have so many questions and doubts during those moments, but look at where God led you. Do you think your faith will grow if He doesn’t allow you to face difficulties?

Sometimes, we blame God for the bad things that happen in our lives, thinking that He allows those things without a purpose. We tend to ignore His blessings because we are too caught up in the thought that a good God somehow permits us to suffer. But behind all the difficulties that we are going through is a privilege that few believers appreciate. It’s in the wilderness and the pruning seasons that our faith is built. This may be a difficult truth to swallow, but unless you have a better perspective of the hard season that you are in, you will always feel exhausted. Changing the way you look at things will greatly help you overcome the giants that you are facing.

So, if life throws so many stones at you, then perhaps God is leading you to a different level of faith. And the question is, are you willing to go through the process? Faith is a gift from God, but it takes humility to receive it. When what you are facing seems to push you to your limits, just imagine that God is giving you the opportunity to receive His gift of faith. Sometimes, that faith was already there. He just needs to stir it up so that you won’t forget about who He is. What if the unexpected situations that you are in will lead you to a deeper relationship with Him?

Maybe it’s time for your faith to grow. The uncomfortable things that you experience will mold you into a better person. Just treat God’s love as the anchor of your soul. It means that you can always go back to the truth that God loves you so much. He wants you to know Him more. He desires intimacy and connection. And most of the time, He will show you more of Him in uncomfortable places.
