Let God Love you First

You can never love someone not unless you know what true love is. It’s just difficult to take good care of others if you can’t even love yourself. You can never give what you don’t have. So if you wanted to know how to love the people around you, let God love you first. Open your heart so that He can come in and heal the wounds inside. Pain will hinder you from accepting the imperfections of other people. As long as you are still wounded, then you need to receive God’s healing first before you can truly give yourself away for others. Let God be the source of your wisdom and strength, and He will give you a heart that’s willing to serve other people.

You don’t have to make some effort. You just need to open your heart and humbly accept the truth that you need the love of God in your life. He alone can satisfy you. Remember that you are surrounded by broken people. This world is not perfect. You will always encounter devastating moments in life, and the only way for you to survive is to simply rely on the love of God. He alone will give you the courage to move forward. His love will give you the assurance that no matter what you face in life, you will always stand still because His hands will hold you, especially in moments when you feel so tired.

Treat Him as your loving Father. Enjoy His presence and receive His peace. Let Him do His thing. Allow Him to move in your life. Surrender all your burdens to Him and let Him comfort you. Depend on His power and not on your own strength. Develop your relationship with Him and treat yourself as His precious child. He will take good care of you. So don’t do something that will keep you away from His presence. Abide in Him, and He will always be there to lead you. His love will never fail. He will remain faithful even in moments when you can’t understand yourself.  He is so patient because He doesn’t want you to perish.

He will teach you how to love others. He will show you what true love is. And only then will you realize that it’s not just about feelings. But it’s more on dying to yourself so that others will live just like what Jesus did on the cross. When you encounter Him in your life, you will see things differently. You will learn to accept other people’s imperfections, and He will encourage you to love them despite everything they did.
